In 1929 the Borough of Cleona was incorporated. In 1946 Borough Council appoints “special officers” to police the Borough streets. In 1956 the Cleona Borough Police Department was established and over the last 70 years CBPD has increased in size and coverage area.
The Department is currently comprised of 10 police officers including a Chief of Police, a Sergeant, a Corporal, two FT Officers, and 5 PT Officers. We provide full police services to Cleona Borough, North Annville Township and Union Township based on contracted services. We also provide a School Resource Officer to the Annville Cleona School District.
CBPD also provides contracted traffic enforcement services in Jonestown Borough and Swatara Township while the Pennsylvania State Police provide coverage for calls for service
